The new Flight Data Recorder has been extensively flight-tested with very good results. Kicad files, BOM, and software are now available for download.

A new flight data recorder has been brought into service and is currently being tested. See this page. It uses the new possibilities linked to the recent redesign of the CAN bus architecture. It is based on an Arduino Nano ESP32 board; see the microcontroller boards page, which has been revised and updated.

A new page about the CAN bus has been added in the software section. At the same time, a new configuration of the CAN bus has been implemented, where the old UART communication line between the AHRS and the EFIS main unit has been removed. The AHRS is now connected to the CAN bus. Of course, many software updates were made for that purpose. New and old software versions are available to download on GitHub. Many minor updates were also made accordingly to the EFIS and AHRS pages.

A new page about variable reluctance sensors and signal conditioning has been added in the hardware section.

It is now possible to attach files to comments: images in JPG or PNG format, ZIP archives, and documents in PDF or TXT format. Furthermore, visitors posting comments will now be notified by email as soon as the moderator has approved them.

An advice page for writing comments has been added.

The Teensy Micro-EMS page has been extensively revised. New versions of the PCB (v 4.1) and software (v 4.2) are available, correcting the initial defects affecting the rev counter function and providing several improvements.

The EMS page has been updated accordingly (new software version 1.5).

Many pages have been updated. In particular, Gerber and drill files are now available for download for all PCBs, in addition to Kicad files, to make ordering these PCBs from manufacturers easier.

The new Teensy Micro-EMS page is now online. A much more advanced version compared to the previous Micro-EMS, which was based on an Arduino UNO board.

On the EFIS page, the EFIS V2 Kicad files and source code have been updated. There was an error in the electrical diagram; two connection pins of the rotary encoder were reversed, which did not allow the benefit of the four hardware quadrature encoder channels available on the Teensy 4.1. This bug is now fixed, allowing for the implementation of the Hardware Quadrature Library for the Teensy 4.x in the source code.

The Micro-EMS page has been extensively revised, introducing the Micro-EMS V2.

There has been a lot of progress over the past few months. The EMS page will finally be written soon! Currently, this page only contains a short in-flight video of the new EFIS-EMS, the EFIS part of which mainly benefits from a new homemade AHRS. This AHRS’s electronic schematics and open-source software will be released soon; the AHRS page will be modified accordingly. This new AHRS settles the question of the commercial unavailability of the previous Naveol system. The EMS works perfectly. The visual interface is currently bare in text mode, facilitating flight tests. The schematics, KICAD files, and open-source software will soon be available on the site.
